How to use?
-
Selecting the desired calculation:
Here we have four options to choose from:
-
Cutting Time: If you want to determine the time it takes to complete the process and you already know the removal rate of your machine, select this option.
-
Cutting Speed: If you want to calculate the cutting speed within a specific time period, select this option.
-
Find Time by Current Feed Rate: Your machine is already cutting! To estimate the process time, select this option.
-
Find Cutting Speed by Feed Rate: Your machine is already cutting! To estimate the removal rate of your equipment, select this option.
-
Cutting Length: Enter the total perimeter (in mm) that you will be cutting.
-
Workipiece thickness: Enter the thickness (in mm) of the material to be cut. This parameter helps to determine the efficiency and accuracy of the wire cutting process.
-
Cutting Time Calculation: If you selected "Cutting Time" at the beginning, the calculator will display as a result the time it takes to complete the process based on the length to be cut, the thickness of the material, and the removal rate from the machine.
-
Cutting Speed Calculation: If you chose "Cutting Speed", you will need to enter the total cutting time in minutes to find the efficiency of your cut.
Note: Cutting Speed represents how much material is removed during the wire raking through the material during the wire cutting process.
The actual cutting time may vary depending on several factors, such as the type of wire, the condition of the machine, and the complexity of the cut.
Tips:
Use a cutting speed that is appropriate for the material being cut and the desired surface finish.
Take into account the thickness of the wire. The larger the diameter, the slower the cutting speed. Consider the complexity of the cut.
More complex cuts will take longer to machine due to corner control.
The "Consider Variables" option adds a safety factor to the calculated cutoff time to account for variables such as slow input, corner control, etc.
